NON-IMMIGRANT VISAS – EB5
Cincinnati Immigration Attorney
Jonathan A. Bartell, Attorney with Margaret W. Wong & Associates is an excellent resource for filing EB-5 Visas, also known as the Green Card Immigrant Investor Program. If you have means to invest and are considering moving to the U.S., obtaining an EB-5 visa may be the best way to gain admittance to the country in a timely manner. The immigration Act of 1990 established the EB-5 immigrant investor visa program to create U.S. jobs by attracting foreign capital to the United States. Every year 10,000 EB-5 visas are available and there is no quota waiting list. Speak with a knowledgeable Cleveland immigration lawyer to learn more about this process and to find out if you qualify,
How does it work?
Applicants must invest $1 million (or only $500,000 in some targeted employment areas) in a U.S. business. Investors can establish a U.S. business or invest in a struggling U.S. business as long as they create full-time employment for at least 10 U.S. workers. Once the application is approved, the applicant is granted conditional permanent residency for a period of two years. Toward the end of the two-year period, the investor may file an application to convert the conditional residency to a permanent status. The investor must show documentation that the terms of the visa have been met – 10 jobs have been maintained or created for U.S. workers within the allowed time frame.
