Immigration Lawyer Still Working Hard On Cases

CLEVELAND, OHIO – Even amidst recent talks of dropping numerous cases in Immigration Court, Jonathan A. Bartell, an immigration attorney, hasn't noticed a decrease in his workload yet as he awaits the changes.

The new immigration policy being implemented is designed to focus on deporting those with extreme criminal pasts.  An overcrowded Immigration Court system is expected to be alleviated as certain cases are examined on a case-by-case basis, depending on non-citizens' criminal histories, their family ties with a spouse and children, and if they've been a productive member of society before being ordered removed.

Bartell, one of the best deportation removal lawyers, who has some clients whose cases are scheduled several years from now, says the docket for the overburdened immigration courts should be reserved for cases involving aliens with extensive criminal backgrounds and those who pose a national security or public safety threat.

"The best way to handle the caseload is to concentrate on the worst of the bunch," says Bartell. "Then get back to those not causing harm at a later date."

However, those changes aren't happening fast enough, he says.

"Department of Homeland Security has pretty much ignored the order from above and is not dismissing many cases," Bartell says.

Meanwhile, he continues to help clients with services including obtaining an investor visa if they qualify to get a green card for foreign nationals investing from $500,000 in a targeted employment area, to $1,000,000 in the U.S.  Eligibility for the visa is contingent on clients creating or preserving at least 10 jobs for U.S. workers.

The H1B green card lawyer also assists clients with obtaining temporary visas to work in the U.S. in specialized fields.  Although a limited number is granted each year, and there is often a long waiting period, Bartell and his staff can help expedite that process.

Bartell, an embassy lawyer, represents clients nationwide for various immigration cases and appears at U.S. embassies in foreign countries on their behalf. The refugee immigration lawyer represents those seeking asylum cases in the U.S. if they are unable or unwilling to return to their native countries for fear of persecution based on their race, religion, nationality, or political and social affiliations.
