Jonathan Bartell became interested in immigration law after graduating from college. He lived in Thailand for five years, working with Hmong, Mien, and Lahu refugees at the Phanat Nikhom camp in a pre-departure program for those headed to the United States. During that time he learned to speak Thai and Laotian fluently, and maintains important connections with the Thai government and the U.S. embassy in Thailand. He sometimes travels to Bangkok or Vientiane to assist clients with immigration problems.
